Worship Style

The First Baptist Church of Roanoke is very blessed to have a dedicated choir to lead us in worship for the Traditional service (9:30am) and a praise band to lead the Contemporary service (10:45am).

The Choir - Traditional Service (9:30am)

The FBC Roanoke Choir is composed of a number of very talented singers in whose hearts God has placed the desire to use their voices to praise Him and help others do the same. In addition to leading the worship in the Traditional service, the choir meets every Sunday evening at 5pm to rehearse for the next week. If you have any interest at all in joining the choir, please don't hesitate to speak with Steve Brewton, our Minister of Music, or anyone in the choir or simply show up for practice one day. The choir is always looking for new faces!

The Praise Band - Contemporary Service (10:45am)

Like the choir, the FBC Roanoke Praise Band also consists of talented musicians who share a common desire to praise God and lead others to do the same, either by lifting their voices in song or by playing the guitar, drums, and other instruments. While the music compositions led by the choir are typically hymns and, in general, more traditional in style, the Praise Band offers up more contemporary praise songs by today's leading Christian artists such as Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, and Paul Baloche. The Praise Band meets on Thursday evenings at 7:30pm and certainly welcomes anyone interested in participating!
